Got quite a few people asking about the bar I am putting in the truck, figured I got my ideas from the pictures I found here, mind as well return the favor.

Basic 6 point bar, DOM tubing, mig welded. No side door bar disconnects, keeping it simple. Lexan rear window with limo tint. Mounting will be NHRA 6" x 6" plate on the floor, though the floor to a short radius 90* to the framerail. The height that I sit in the drivers seat was not going to be a problem with a non removable bar on the driver and passenger side. It was mocked up and I didn't have an issue with getting in/out of the seat.

I hope to get the truck back Wednesday or Thursday and go racing on Friday night at the local tracks grand reopening.

The builder had to bend the middle bar down to clear the factory drivers seat because I drive it leaning like a cholo.... yeah, elbows up, side to side style..

More to come! Thanks to all who have posted pics, the guy who is doing the bar said he saw very many good ideas (nasty girl's cage) as well as Tim's

Are you leaving in the big shot? Or what's the plan now that you will technically be legal.

Bought that batmo S480, and putting in my biggest jet mid February. ;) Have Kory whipping me up a new TCM tune to take advantage of the new converter.

Are the rear bars going to go through the window or the metal just above it? Removable door bars?

Correct Josh, they will go through the rear window, and will tie into the frame about 3' behind the wall of the front of the bed. No removable door bars.

So the bars themselves are going to do a 90 into the frame under the truck? Thats legal? I thought you had to use 4x4 square tube (or similar) welded to the frame to use as outriggers for the mounting points?

The bars only to a 90 to the floor plate. under the cab is the bar that goes form the cab to the framerail.

Are you still daily driving this truck Brian?

Yes and no.. I drive it, but not daily. Engine has 5500 miles on it since I put it in in late May, so I drive it more than most and still plan on doing so. I am taking it to Vegas end of March for Newly's wedding, drive it to car shows, take it to go get breakfast on sunday mornings... etc lol :D

Thats cool:thumb: I like race trucks that get more street use than track. I'm excited to see what you can wring out of it.
