ROBBED INSIDE WALMART

And the security guards did nothing. WTF?

She said she was not about to just roll over. She said she followed the man through the aisles and yelled for help.

"I got right behind him and I was going after him," Jones said. "I was not going to let him get away and nothing happen."

However, she said that's exactly what happened. Jones said the robber just strolled out of the store past employees inside and security outside.

She said the manager told her that the security guards cannot get involved with robberies.

"He said even if the security guards had been inside the store, there's nothing that they can do," Jones said. "They are there to protect the store."

Thanks for shopping. Better store, better prices, lousy security.:jerkit:

morally yes, its messed up. just like the guards that watched that girl get beat to death a month or so ago. legally, they are right. that is why i it is imperative that you become proactive and learn to defend yourself and your property. it is becoming more and more of a reality the further the country slips into the depression. desperation leads to poor choices/crime.

They cant physically stop you from doing anything, if you were to steal from Wal-Mart, theres nothing they can do other than ask you to stop and attempt to order you to stop. Get out those doors they cant even try to come after you, all they can do is alert the authorities. They are there for show, only to hopefully imitimidate people to not steal. Sadly I know this, becuase when I was in college, I had to work there to make ends meet. The amount of stuff stolen from Wally world is mind boggling.

I know it sounds bad, but a business cannot be expected to be held liable for criminal behavior of the customers.

This would open up another huge venue for lawyers to sue every business that exists, and it could perhaps make some businesses collapse.

You can't "profile" your customers, nor can you pre-screen them.

If WallyWorld could stop criminals from shopping there, the criminals would file a class-action suit against them.

When I was a correctional officer in Texas, We were not commissioned. And so we could not hold, or stop anyone from leaving the unit if they were just visiting. Like a visitor on the weekends. If they wanted to leave. They could. We can keep them from entering.

As for the coming after them after they leave the store. I know they are not supposed to and not supposed to retain you there. But I have seen them do it. I've seen them drag a friend of mine out of her car for shop lifting. (chewed her A$$ out for that one. Could have asked me for some help with money.) Then the manager told her he could do it cause it was Wal-marts property she was taking. So they thought they had the right to do it. That was about 5 or 6 years ago. They still haven't followed through with pressing charges on her.

When my younger brother worked at Wal-mart while going to college he told more than one story about chasing people from the storeout into the parking lot. He said most of the time the people would drop what they stole and keep on running. The policy must be different in this area.

Maybe it's just me, but if I was a security guard there and seen this shit happening, I'd do something about it. Job be damned. Isn't it the right thing to do?
