im seeing more and more of these here in Colorado. Does anybody know what there purpose is? I had someone tell me they could give you "pass no pass" mark and it would mail it to your house? the "pass" letter could be taken to the dmv for tags etc...There usually on the on-ramps so I just coast buy em. :dontknow:

I used to see them where I live frequently a year or so ago. But now I dont see them near me. But I do however see them in the Los Angeles and OC area all the time. I to just cruise on by them. I do see them stop big rigs mostly.

ive never seen a single person outside of them, let alone have anybody pulled over. The ones here aren't even on truck routes, not sure really what there up to

In CO diesel and gas are e-tested separately. Those vans check gas vehicle emissions and do mail you a slip. They are cheaper than going to the testing center.

I believe they only charge $20 instead of the normal $25 for a gas emissions and you dont have to go wait in the stupid long emissions line.

So glad I live in Wyoming. Colorado has turned into another hippy liberal douche-bag state just like California.

ive been dodging that s*** for 5 years now lol..no idea what a diesel emissions cost here in Colorado now.

e tests on diesels are required by some, but not all counties.
Prices vary depending on testing station.

I just did mine.
DSP on tune 1, weathertech floormat with a crushed beer can under the mat so the pedal couldn't go down too far.
28% result, 34% max. :woott:

I thought Colorado was decided on by living in or out of city limits? my new house outside of severance doesn't require it. At least in Weld County.
Good call on the beer can lol. Ill have to remember that:D

Thank the lord for NC, lol... We have safety inspection only for diesels. Basically, if you could stop when you pulled up, you have windshield wipers, your brake lights work, head lights work and you have bumpers your good...:D

So far the cost has been the same whether I ran the Caddy at the emisions place, or through the sniffer vans. I like the vans though because they aren't nearly as accurate. The Caddy has been cat-less since I've owned it. I kill the engine just slightly before I roll through the vans. That way it picks up enough emissions to not call it an "incomplete test", yet not enough that it fails. Has passed two times so far and the exhaust stinks out of it :D

$70 through the shop I work at. I'm a certified Colorado diesel emissions inspector :thumb:

I'm pretty sure it's just based off of what county the vehicle is registered in. Hence my truck being registered at my parents house in Weld county ;)
