i didn't check with a straight edge. im going to get them resurfaced tomorrow. don't wanna chance it. i think this is why i was loosing coolant. the metal is definately indented

Mine looked about the same and i cleaned them up,with 2+2 and a 3m scotch pad did not rub hard and most of that was sealer that came from the gaskets.

whats 2+2? i used a scotchbrite pad. i got 99% of the gasket material off. i actually have grooves perpendicular to the cylinder diameter. the gasket has radius ridges.

I'm not being a wise-ass, how did you go about doing this?

snap on di grinder with a aluminum hog bit. then polish with a sanding "drum/roll" kit( i guess you could call it) from summit. sanded from 80 to 120 to 400

matched the exhaust ports to the gasket along with the exhaust manifolds. smoothed out the radius turn and factory casting defects. opened up the valve bowls on the exhaust side

hope i explained in an understandable way
