I have never been not offered a job that I have interviewed for. It feels good when you can turn down a job after an interview for something else. Also have questions for the interviewer, they will ask you as well.

knowing that i can wlak around a vehicle and teach the systems and how to trouble shoot majority fo the problems is easyto communicate verbally.. in writing i suck period.. at conveing it.
Naked pictures of the person giving the interview doing questionable things with animals always works.
Seriously, everything listed so far is great advice.
If you have room on the resume without making it look too "busy", might want to include a blurb about "Hobbies". Something like "In my spare time I enjoy design, modification and implementation of high performance diesel engine components and systems", or something like that that compliments the job description.
i could see something like that could get me into trouble with the wrong preson. plus you look the resume i attached and its is dam near full with 10point font

Just a few added pointers from what I remember from English class....first its "critique"
List experience/jobs and education in chronological order, starting with present - past.
Make sure your name stands out...centered at the top in bigger font (size 14-18) and bold, also use sans-serrif font (Times New Roman) also add contact info (address, email, phone #) under your name at the top of the page.
Make it easy to read, and manage the "white space"...try to keep the resume to one page if possible without leaving out important info. Only add hobbies/other skills that would apply to the job at hand.

I interview and see people with resumes quite a bit so maybe I can add a few things that could help you out Adam.
First is that the structure of your resume is good, I like how it is organized, however I feel as though nothing grabs my attention about you as a candidate. I see that you have navy service which is great and that you were home schooled which is good too. I feel as though the structure could be arranged a bit to highlight experience in your chosen field definently through the navy. I would investigate the net for resume templates and if you are serious then find someone who works on resumes exclusively. And definently keep your resume updated so that every new skill you learn can be added and give you much more value. Let me look at the resume a bit more and see if I can show you what I mean.

I have made some minor changes, I feel when doing a resume that the work put in even if it seems overkill makes it that much better and defines you as a job candidate.
