X2, I ran my truck with 60% overs and ppe dual fuelers with a s475 for 2 years, completely stock motor. My rods bent before my stock head bolts even thought about stretching. It dynoed 741hp with raw tuning after I first put 2xcp3's on.

I would say that going from holding 22k rail pressure to being able to hold 26k will gain almost 100hp.

Your post just made my night haha. If I can get a year from my stock rods with a very mild tune and 100 overs I will be super happy:thumb:

I only put about 1500 street miles in that 2 years and about 30 sled pulls. Max effort tuning. I never did go WOT on street either. I knew i was on borrowed time so I picked my battles.

Injectors are stock. So it sounds like some where between 50 and 100 hp gain? And a set of rods . Thanks guys. I'll post results when I get them.

i pulled my truck all year at 640rwhp with dual fuelers...no problems at all its all in tuning and how you drive...if you always mash the throttle and hammer on it of course its gonna break...

I have proven that these motors will run to 800+hp on stock rods. However, I didn't know that the rods were bent. I then did some testing on a load cell dyno (dual fuelers, 71mm turbo and some N2O) and as soon as I passed 575hp (LB7/LLY rods with no N2O) the compression went from 400+psi to 290-310psi on all 8 holes. The truck still went over 700+hp easy with the biggest tune still left to test before I decided to stop. I also drove it 50 miles back home and continued to drive it for another 6 months before I decided to tear it down and build it up (decided not to wait till it stranded me). A friend drove his truck with bent rods for 4 years in this condition and it's still going today. But him and I know it's a time bomb. Big fuel and lots of air will fix you up. I'm sure the LBZ/LMM rods are only marginally higher before they go. Compression tests are the only teller of the tail before an inspection window is made itself in the block. Just stating the results I found with hands on testing.

All this talk of stock motors taking 700hp is making me want to bump the fuel up. Bent rods here I come!!! FTW!

an example on a full race tune 3300 pw and big timing I went from 108 mph in the 1/4 to 115 mph so that is over 100hp gained and that was just on a Wicked Diesel Stroker LBZ pump

Just cross your fingers and have fun. Remember, these trucks are are not consistent, some will hold (lbz&lmm) and and some won't (lb7&lly):D

(Chant) COMPRESSION TEST,,,COMPRESSION TEST,,,COMPRESSION TEST :D

Remember, the OEM rods are made from the same material. All LB7/LLY rods will stand up to the same amount of pressure before deforming as is true for the slightly beefier LBZ/LMM rods. The OEM material toughness and machining doesn't vary from to motor to motor. I have nothing to gain by letting this info out, nor am I obligated to divulge it. Just trying to save some folk some headache and financial depleting. This is info I was no privy to when I did my testing back then.

All in tuning, some lb7's and lly's with stock gaskets and rods making high hp... Well they must be the Wednesday trucks :roflmao:
