I just bought a used transmission out of a wrecked truck , my question is, is there anything I should do before/ while I have the trans out of my truck ?

What year, make, model, trans, 2 or 4wd, any mods already done to it, oh yeah and how much coin do you have to spend.
Do you know the history of the trans you bought? Or is it an unknown junkyard buy?
Planned usage of said truck, daily driver, work truck, or weekend warrior?

I was told the trans came out of a 03 that was wrecked with 50K on it, planning on using it as a daily driver and pulling a camper and misc equipment
If you're planning to do an aftermarket down pipe, do it while the trans is out. It'll save you alot of time.
Also you might think about heat blankets for the turbo and up pipes. Check out Turbo Performance In the candy store section on the main forum page. Levi has great products at nice prices. The blankets took care of my heat issues since the firewall insulation was toasted on my truck.
