Hi.
I have a 2003 lb 7 duramax. Stock no lift.
I replaced both wheel bearing hub assemblies about 2 months ago and I had to replace my passenger one again today. The bearing was gone.
Anyway after I replaced it (warranty) skf bearing I noticed I still had up and down play? My side to side was still good and my ball joints are a couple years old but still look decent. What am I missing ??!
My driver side is still good. I jacked the tire up and no play at all.
I torqued everything to Spec.
I'm not sure what to look for and i know if I leave it it will fail again. Please help
Me!!
I'm going to look at my truck again tomorrow when I'm at work so any suggestions I would greatly appreciate.
Thanks

I've never heard of SKF bearings before, so maybe they are poor quality, and the "new" one is already bad? Given one already failed after only 2 months, this would be my suspicion.

I would look into buying a Timken bearing/hub and run that. I have good luck with mine despite running a 35" tire and additional offset (both are hard on hubs).

SKF bearings are good bearings from what I read and we use them at work.
I'm also from Canada.
I got these parts from Napa and they were the "premium" about 300 bucks each.

And the new one felt great before I installed it but I'm just saying that one I put my tire on I still have play up and down.

If you have up and down play and no side to side, it's ball joint play

Now you need to find out if it's the upper or lower ball joint with play

No I did not post here before about cv axls. I also forgot to mention I did change my upper and lower ball joint on the side that has play but only on the control arm. I'll take a closer look I guess see if any more are worn out.
