Removing Lift worth it??

Hey everyone, I've got a superlift 6 inch lift, but getting in my old age (mostly fatter lol:roflmao:) I'm wanting to drop it. I would really like to go back to stock but wasn't sure what kind of hacking would be required. I've got it dropped to about 3.5, but would like to see it at 2 inches tops. In saying that, I'd like to remove the lift all together and throw some 33's on. On a side note, I'm not sure if it's a bracket or knuckle style lift. In saying all of that, is it even worth changing all of it, or just turn everything down more, switch out blocks, and get 33's??

I had a 6" fabtech lift and had to buy a cognito diff bracket and fabricate a new rear cross member right behind the oil drain where they cut it out for new cross mount in the kit...
Other than that it was just unbolt the crap they put on and rebolt back to stock pieces
If you can't weld/fabricate it's going to be difficult :(

I run a 295/55 20 which is 32.8x11.6 on a 20x9 +0 completely lowered t bars with no rubbing besides on my flaps a little.

This X2, went from an 8" to stock on an 05. I bit the bullet and had a shop do it. I suggest find someone who wants your lift, maybe work a deal to trade front diffs if the mileage is comparable. Have a swap is way easier in my opinion.

If you want anything over stock height and want to maintain a factory or near factory ride and keep your front end as long as you can a TRUE lift is the only way to go. Any t bar crank or leveling kits are going to put everything in more of a bind and create worse and worse cv angles.
As far as whether it's a knuckle or bracket lift, do your t bars stick down lower than the frame? Is the differential lower than stock? If yes then it's a bracket lift most likely. Especially being that it's a super lift. Heck if I had just bought bigger tires id swap you even for stock parts;)

thanks everyone, I may just end up lowering it as much as I can, and putting 33's on it. On a side note, does negative angle on CV joints hurt anything?? I don't race, and I've never launched it 4wd so I wouldn't think so, but I'm not positive

Too much negative angle can definitely result in more wear, but I doubt you will be able to lower it enough to get them that negative. When I was running my lift I was just slightly negative with bolts right out.

the only problem with keeping what you have is the craptastic super lift.... it is not know for its quality

yea I wouldn't have put it on, but it's got about 65k miles on it, and some new pro comp shocks, so it's holding up lol

the problem is mainly in build quality for geometry and lack of strength the kit has

i would personally look at putting it to stock height. you can easily make a 33" tire fit, it just depends on how wide of a tire you want to go. What size wheel do you have? and what off set/back spacing?

I got the bracket style superlift kit. The only good thing is you don't hack up the differential so that helps if you're going back stock. I'm thinkin about takin mine off and puttin 3in ready lift or somethin similar on.

looks like they did cut the cross member. the wheels I have are a -12, 20 inch, and 35's... its got brand new tie rods and pitman and idler arms. Now that I take the pics, it looks about right although I'd rather get some black steps lol. The bumpers are gonna get color matched...This thing has been a process but totally different than before
