i bought my truck with the 6in lift thats on it but ive decided im tired of wearing out ball joints, cv axles, my seats from people sliding in and out and paying for tires. whats involved in removing a lift? its a procomp if that makes a difference

do you have all of the parts that were cut off from the pro comp lift? if not then it could be a real pain. i too wanted to get rid of my lift but it just wasn't worth it (since i had none of the cut off frame parts).

Now im just gonna save up, go bigger and do a SAS

SAS is the best option if your tired of replacing everything. A Pro Comp is a pain to take off.

I will be doing the SAS this winter coming up.

You will need the factory steering knuckle I believe, as well as the crossmember that gets removed. Possibly new U-bolts for the rear axle as well. That's all I can think of off hand going by what was removed when my Fabtech was installed.
Best way to figure it out is go to a shop that does lifts and ask them what they take off to install a lift. They may even have the old crap from someone else laying around for you.

Don't forget about smaller rims/tires that you may need as well.:)

Anybody make a replacement ear for the front Diff? Im thinking about taking my lift off as well! I think there was one piece of metal I had to take off of the stock frame as well, but cant remember.

Thanks! Im going to hold off for now. I figured getting rid of the lift would get me into the 11's, but we found out my truck is shifting into 6th @ 3200rpm/102mph. getting rid of that shift should get me that slip.

Your truck is too pretty to get rid of the lift. I love mine and wouldnt take it off for anything!
