So I've heard they make a remote start with wait to start and I want to get one but I have a couple questions, how does or does the remote start know how long to wait for? Also I have the block warmer and I plug my truck in every night when it is cold, is ok to to have the truck running while the block warmer is still plugged in or no?

Alarms with "wait to start" hook into your wait to start light on the dash. When it goes out, the remote start will start the truck. This is how mine works. Some cheaper ones use a timer you set that won't start the truck for say, 30 sec while it acts as if the key is in the "run" position. After the programmed time is hit, it will start the truck

Bring this back up, I am looking for a remote start and lock/unlock, preferably with the high idle option, and start after the glow plugs finish, not on a timer. I have been looking at Viper 4204V, Autopage C3-RS730LCD, and the Clifford 4706X. There isn't a lot of information I can find, it seems most are on a timer for starting. What would you guys recommend?

I have been doing some more digging. Do you hook up the high idle through the axillary channels? Also, is there any bypasses need or anything like that?

There's a guy on here that sells a high idle that kicks in after 10-40 seconds depending on the temp and then goes back to normal when it's up to temp. Might be your best bet

My omega connects to the glow plug wire at the gauges. When that goes out it starts. No problems even at -15 ambient not plugged in.

Ben may have that. Bt diesel works (duratothemax)

I have the Viper Smart Start. Set on 15 second delay but I dont know if it has a high idle option. probably just have to get high idle setting on your switch unless your truck has the factory option. Very nice remote start. It will cost 500-550 and a small yearly cost, but you cant start it from however far away you want as long as theirs a signal for your phone where your truck is.

I have a viper on both of my trucks. Hooked up the glow plug light and tach wire. Without the glow plug wire hooked up, you can actually set the start system to wait a pre determined amount of time before it starts. Did not like the fact that during the summer it would wait 25 seconds to start. Needed the tach wire as it would not stay running and would drain the batteries trying to restart.

Set the high idle as you would normally. It acts just like you started it with the key if installed correctly.

Which setup did you get, how do you like it. More info please :D

It's a Mars 22. Been on there for many years now and haven't had any problems. So no complaints. I remote start my truck twice a day. It shuts off and locks automatically after 15 minutes.

I use an expresskit gmdlbp as the passlock bypass box. Had to replace that once, super easy to program.

My automate remote start works just perfect. Had it since I bought the truck in 08, never had any issues. Starts it up after the wait to start is off. High idle also works, I leave the high idle option on whenever the weather is cold. Turn off the high idle when it's warm enough.
