I'm having to mount my radiator in the bed. Who has done this? What radiator did you end up using and why? AN fittings with braided lines? Any and all Info/pictures would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently looking at some
BE-COOL rads with fans but am open to any suggestions. Much appreciated:thumb:

I'd say your options are open.. Look and see what the off road racing trucks (Lucas) are doing. They run theirs in the truck beds. I ran a Griffen in a S-10 that had a 383 in it. I really liked it. But it was mounted in the standard location. Sorry if I was no help.

I know your truck will probably never see dirt but you might want to look into the mud truck setups. Those guys run rear mount radiators to keep them from being caked with mud and damaged. It seems like you always see them overheating though. The biggest concern with the rear mount would obviously be the lack of airflow. You will definitely want the biggest radiator you can fit in the space and you will need a couple powerful fans. I'm sure this isn't news to you though.

what about an air to water in the bed? Or are you looking to keep full DD functionality?

I would mount it about 2feet away from the cab at an angle, there seems to be alot of wind turbulance in that area of the bed so it should have good flow, i would also run dual electric fans .. X 2 ON RON DAVIS

Problem could be airflow below 30 mph in stop and go driving. You will need fans on your trans cooler also. You might want to rethink this.

Full bed width radiator built into the tailgate. It'll receive plenty of air flow there. No fans needed at any speed above parking lot speeds.

Ron Davis made my custom radiator and shroud with two Spal 12" fans. They had to weld two cores together to make mine and it looks and functions great.

I've had a remote mount Setrab setup with fans for a while now, got rid of the AC a while ago mainly because i wouldn't have been able to run it with my last compound setup. I've been looking at some of the higher end universal AC systems like used in resto mod muscle cars and such but never really bothered me that much. I mainly take the truck out the most from 6pm on late. The rad would most def have fans for sure.

Fans are a must for sure. Unfortunately, the way my kit is handing off the front of the motor makes it necessary to mount this somewhere else.

I like the way you think!!!:thumb: def my style

Can you send me some pictures of it? Did you use AN fittings?
