If you get a small (or large) kick-back when you rapidly stab the brakes, your hydroboost is failing. I've seen a ton go bad, they only seem to last about 50-100k miles. Some people get more miles because they don't realize theirs has failed and is fighting them in a panic stop, when you need it most!
I tried the reman route, but I was lucky to get 1000 miles on them before the reman would crap out. Just get a new ACDelco part, and like everyone says, the 2011 is a redesigned unit with better brake feel (and maybe better longevity, we shall see!).
..also the 2001-2007.5 classic trucks did not have the same ABS system as the 2007.5-2010 LMM (BCM change). and 2011 trucks Ben has wrote a number times as to what the changes were and IIRC it had to do with the trailer braking system and the rear calipers were on separate feed lines and the 2001-2007.5 had a single line going to the both rear calipers. It has to be the 2011 booster only as a lot of things changed in 2012+ trucks.
To the OP their is proper way to bleed the system, the first step is with the truck jacked up and the engine OFF. There is a procedure here on the site or PSC...

Thats what I was confused about as well. Ive never seen anyone put a 2011 on an 05
So the 2011 Booster (#20940394) found here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-OEM-Power-Brake-Booster-20940394-/152258731932?vxp=mtr should bolt up to my 2009 GMC LMM even though the part number for it is: 20940395. Correct?
My booster is leaking at the front where the master cylinder bolts on. There is a clean spot and sometimes a drop of PS fluid waiting to fall.
