I'd be more concerned with what you block off behind the cooler than the cooler itself but you probably would be ine. I would think somewhere around 1600 cfm would be suffice. Just ball parking though-no KB data to back it up.

Now I don't know this guy (whinney) from Jack John or Bill and was going to question that kind of drop in transmission temp unless he's spraying it with NOS or packing it with ice but that response will work too. :D

Waiting to hear his response :D

they were here but now their gone....thats weird guess sombody deleted it imagine that....

Well if you want to make up a data sheet real quick and pitch it to me I would be glad to listen.:rofl: Just make sure to use big words I wont understand. Shit make some new words up if you want.

So I where are people re-routing to coolers to? Does anyone on here have a trans cooler fan?

This is the first time I have been here for almost a year and these are the reasons why.

Josh and Mike, I have no problem burning my own bridges, I don't need either of yours help. How Mike knows about my conversation with Josh is beyond me as I haven't talked with Mike in more than 6 months and to the best of my knowledge, only 1 or 2 people knew about it, so I'll have to keep even tighter leash on things let out.

Josh, I am positive I am careful about what I say to people for this very reason, I think you stretched the truth a little and if you said it out of anger, which I understand, I would appreciate it if you would clear it up. Like I said earlier, I don't need anyones help to piss anyone off or fight my battles.......it takes a pretty decent amount for me to get as angry as I was the last time someone started posting a bunch of bullshit on the net that I got drug into. I think I settled down a pretty good bt after venting a little, but some people you just can't please anyway. If you still believe what you posted to be accurate, so be it.

In the future, I am open to talk to anyone face to face or on the phone if they want to know if I have something to say or a problem with them.......anyone who knows me personally will support this comment. I hope this stays.......who knows, maybe I'll come back over.....

here is my apology.im sorry. i was mad when i posted what i did because i really wasnt trying to piss anyone off when i posted about my trans cooler and i thought what was said about me was wrong and without reason. but mike and i talked and decided to quit acting like girls and stop bickering over stupid crap.

now as for the topic of the thread, yes i promise anyone that the 6.0 psd trans cooler on my truck has dropped my temps from 210 in town to no more then 160. after 3 hard dyno pulls and sled pulling, both real hot days, the hottest it has got is 160. BUT like mike stated, this cooler is very expensive and very dangerous to run on our trucks because our factory lines are 5/8" and the cooler is 1/2" barb fittings. first try i used a reducer and 5/8 hose and some 1/2 hose. that didnt work. now ive got high psi 1/2" hose and we cut the quick connect flare off the hard factory lines, heated the 1/2" line and pushed it down on the metal lines. its extremely tight and triple clamped. its been fine since. im using this cooler at my own risk and dont recommend that anyone run it unless they know the risks involved with it.

That Just happened!!

Thought about running a small electric fan up front mounted to the trans cooler.. (since the cooler is hidden behind the bumper) might help at lower speed but I have a feeling the amount of help would be pretty minimal.

Have also thought about acquiring another stock cooler and making up some hydraulic hoses (I have the equipment to crimp ends on) and running two....

So far changing lockup speeds has helped out a little.. so thats a start.

Hey, someone said the stock cooler connections are -10 AN fittings on the 6 speed? is that correct?

they are orb fittings going into the cooler u can use npt atleast I have without leaks but orb would be better
instead of 2 I would just run a bigger single

also running race t stat would help as the ect is cooler then the fluid going thru the rad won't be as hot

the deep pan can help a bit also

if u wanted to get real fancy there is a nice cooler that u run the lines thru that uses water but not very practical on a dd
