Redhead steering box.

Does anyone know if you can use a different year steering box for a 02, like a 03 or newer steering box?

Go to a parts site like rock auto, look up say the steering box, and see what all years it fits. Many times GM didn't make 1 year only items, but instead made a part that fits a whole generation of truck. As far as I know, the steering box is the same for 01-07 classic so long as you get it with the correct splines. Take what you find from the year interchange, and that tells you which years used the same box as yours.

Just gonna rebuild my factory box...it's leaking terribly, then I will adjust it so it's as good as new, then if I'm still no pleased I'm gonna get the redhead, however instill plan on upgrading my stabilizer with a blistein too. There is a lot going on down there!
