AFAIK, there is no test to determine ones "level" of intoxication from smoking weed, and if you say it doesn't effect your ability to drive, well you may be high as well.

Thats the part that bothers me, I can't drive drunk but you can drive stoned?

Other than that, no ****s given, if stoners wanna get high, so be it, darwinism will slowly take its toll.

This was my biggest peeve as well... but from what I understand there is a way now they can tell how "high" you are at that exact time... I don't have the details though...

More available to our youth? When I was in 8th grade I didn't have a cell phone, and I still could have gotten a sack of pot whenever I wanted. To all the parents that have kids in the 13-15 age range, I can almost guarantee you that your kid already knows where to get weed, and exactly how much it costs. I am not saying they use it, but I'll bet they know where to find it.

It takes a high school senior about 5 minutes to get weed, it is a lot harder for that same kid to get ahold of a bottle of whiskey even though the alcohol is legal and sold on every corner. I think legalizing and regulating the growth and sale of marijuana is a good idea.

EXACTLY now just imagine they sold it at the gas station next to the gum and tic tacs! :D

Bingo! Completely agree. My freshmen year in high school was the first time I ever partook in smoking it and all I had to do was walk to a buddies car to get it. But when we were looking for booze we had to call around to find someone of legal age who would risk it, then secretly meet up on a back dirt road for the 'transaction'.

The same exact argument can be made for those oh so healthy and readily available "safe" pharmaceutical drugs that a substantial percentage of the American population are under the influence of all day every day

As far as driving "stoned" that is illegal today . You can be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or both! They can obtain a blood sample for testing! If your found to have THC in your blood you'll be charged. It will be up to a lawyer I'll bet to fight to the level of intoxication.

No doubt, I just am annoyed that certain things are deemed "safe" and other drugs are "evil"

Crack and Meth ARE legal you fools, go to the doctor for ADD/ADHD and there ya go.

To the people that dislike the props passing, where does it stop? Nicotine and alcohol can REALLY mess you up. Next time you're drunk smoke a cigarette and let me know how you feel. Those illegal too? What about NyQuil? Aspirin? Caffeine?

It comes down to this: If you cannot be a productive member of society because of any substance, you have a problem with that substance not the rest of the community.

I hate the current mentality that "if it doesn't work for me, no one should have it."

Damn straight Steve! It's all on how each indivisual is effected and how they go about there day to day tasks and lives. If they can function quite ok while smoking a little reefer that's fine. Some people can't. Personally if I smoke a bone I just pass right out. Helps me sleep at night when I am stressed or something on my mind. Do I abuse it? Hell no, am I going broke supporting my occasional smoking? Nope. It's all on how you make of it.

Now, if your next door neighbor is a now a MJ dealer, and people come by at all times of night, and burglarize your area and vehicles, what can you do? Nothing. It comes with the job.

No offense, but pot heads aren't the ones burglarizing things. That would be the crack, Meth, heroin people that are addicted and will do whatever it takes to get a fix. The pot heads just want everyone to get along and have a good time.

I never said that it bothered me that people use it, I couldn't care less. I do care about how their actions while on said drug affect me.

i dont disagree with you there. if your high and driving, i feel its just as bad as being drunk and driving. Do i have stats to prove it? no but based on my own obsverations, i dont see much difference between them.

Here's the thing people are going to do what they want whether it's illegal or not and if they're not hurting other people all you're doing is turning people into criminals. Doesn't everybody look back favorably on prohibition?

Decriminalizing != making something legal.

If these people really change that much because of any drug, you probably should not be hanging out with them. People use drugs/alcohol as an excuse to act like an idiot. If you are going to drink or use any mind/body altering substance you better be prepared to keep your shit together.

Uh, I do not think any victim of a drunk driver planned on being there to get hit or killed by the drunk's car.

Not trying to argue, just sayin'

I don't know, I've driven while I've had more than enough to drink, bad idea on my part. Definatly, but everyone who drinks has had that happen before I'm sure. I've also driven with a good buzz off of a joint I smoked prior and it's Definatly easier and not like driving drunk I can tell you from my experiences. I would feel much more comfortable driving stoned then shitfaced any day.

Your just being foolish about the pot is a gateway drug. :D

The reason they say that is any individual or most will say the first illegal drug they used was pot. Therefore they will say reefer a gateway drug. So the statement is semi true. Some will smoke pot and never venture into anything else. Some will move on to other drugs.

So it ain't like you smoke a joint one day and the next your out looking for kit to intravenously boot heroin. :D

But for some it was a stepping stone unfortunately.
