So you have one of those 3 seconds 0-60 duramax that I see on YouTube?
Yes he does...It was featured in the July 2010 edition of Car & Driver, where they do all the 0-60 MPH testing...

I find that I get better mileage with more power it makes as long as I keep my foot off the floor.. I will never go back to a gas truck, I find it extremely funny when people with Cameos and corvettes get their feelings hurt when the try to play with me.

I'd vouch for a yes...:thumb:
Your arguing with the wrong guy buddy...

Wow!! With that explanation it's amazing they make a camero, corvette any performance vehicle for that matter. Lookout 6.2 vehicles that's borderline hp ratings for the mighty Allison with an inferior transmission
So, did you join to troll and talk about yourself?Keep pondering why I joined since you haven't figured it out yet. Btw Chevy taunts at least 200000 miles of heavy work with the 6.0. Speaking of the 6.2, the z06 version 650hp 650 ft tq. Now that would be interesting in a 3/4 ton.
I've built dirt track engines up to assisting with top fuel. I'm happy for gm with the duramax because the previous diesels were a joke
I had a 2010 6 liter CCSB for 8 months. Pulling my 8000# holiday trailer I averaged 6-7mpg @ 60mph and that thing was never under 3000rpm. Best empty on the highway doing 75 was about 16mpg - 3-4 on average less than what my LBZ with a 6" lift on 35's gets empty and about 8-10 less when towing.
Gasser's don't hold a candle to a diesel if your going to tow and I would NEVER suggest anyone get one if that's what they want to do with it.
Unless your running fleet vehicles, never towing heavy and turn them over every 100 000 km. Then the cost savings on purchase price might be worth it.
The base engine is the Vortec 6000, a 6.0-liter V8 (366 cubic inches) that generates 300 horsepower and 360 foot-pounds of torque at 4000 rpm. Introduced for 1999, it's designed for a 200,000-mile operating life with 10,000-mile oil change intervals. Its aluminum cylinder head is similar to that of the L56 Corvette. That's from way back in 2002. So what you're telling me is increasing fuel pressure to extreme heights causing excessive cylinder heat , blowing head gaskets and changing shift firmness to jerking points causing excessive wear and instability on how the internals are applied doesn't mean a thing. Well I guess you got me. I must don't know a thing about mechanical principles. Tell me does Viagra make you feel like a real manReally man?
Do you have a point
Cuz its really looking like theres no point here and no direction, not to mention NO CLUE
So, did you join to troll and talk about yourself?
What do you mean
"Chevy taunts 200,000mi of work with a 6.0?
Did you mean touts?
I cant recall chevy touting anything like that about the 6.0, but OK
Youre talking about the new generation LT1 C7 Z06???
Sorry pal
That supercharged engine in a 3/4 ton truck wouldnt be all that impressive when compared to one of the big hitters here on DuramaxDiesels with a performance built truck...it'd be comparable to a built trans truck with built trans tuning with maybe some bigger injectors and a turbo upgrade, but the difference is, it wouldnt tow shit in comparison and would probably cost $85,000 dollars....
And still lose in a 1/4mi run against a Duramax powered 3/4 ton CC/SB with some bolt ons that was 1/2 the price, including the upgrades...
GOOD FOR YOU MAN!
Youre still outta your league here cuz you dont know a damn thing when it comes to performance diesel
And the previous GM IDI 6.2L was just fine for its time, and look, it, like its predecessor surpassed its competitors in longetanding sales without being revamped. Then when they did away with it they came out with the duramax and it has been going strong and leading the way setting standards for the "other two" for 15yrs...while ford and dodge have had to adopt new technologies, completely change platforms and redesign several times, GM just alters the original duramax platform...
Id say GM knows diesel pretty well

After reading some of your other posts "Boss Hog" I think you'd be better off keeping your all mighty 3/4ton 6.0 LQ4 powered beast...
I have a REAL hard time buying in to what you claim, since my last truck WAS an 07 classic 6.0L LQ4 powered 3/4 ton HD truck with 4.10 gears and the 4L80...and it didnt come close to doing what you claim yours will...
I even had a D1-SC procharger on it, and it doesn't even enter the same realm as my Duramax is in...
Id hate to read about the crow youre gonna eat if you went through with the purchase of a duramax powered truck...
And BTW
I GET A SOLID 18mpg with my lifted Duramax powered CC/SB on the freeway...
Granted, ive gone to further lengths than most do to retain if not better my rig from its original state, but thats the reality of it...it gets about 7mpg more than my 6.0 gasser ever got, under any circumstance
My Duramax gets 13-15mpg avg when towing 10,500lbs and im rarely traveling flat and level roads here in the PNW...and usually passing
In comparison, the LQ4 gasser got 11mpg empty and 6-8 loaded... Hardly anything close to what you claim to get, so if it is indeed that wonderful, keep it
My LLY does 19-20mpg every tank unloaded on summer blend fuel, I don't have a fancy DIC so its always hand calculated.
And lulz at putting a performance SBC in a tow rig, I could toss my 700ft/lb gasser motor in a truck and it would move out nicely but once its loaded up bet I could never keep it from overheating to all hell.
My 05 lly gets 12-13 in town and 16-17 hwy hand cal may get 18 if lucky and drive most of the tank on the freeway now thats at 7300lbs min on stock rims 265/75/16 street tires
I don't see how you guys are getting 20+mpg
LOLZ. Like I said, I pulled this boat with a 3500 Dodge, and boy was I begging to have my DMAX back!! It's doing much better on the mileage now too!
Btw, I pulled the empty trailer back from the Gulf (400 miles) with a 1/2 ton 6.2 truck, let's just say I worked really hard to maintain speed. And thank goodness it had the 6l80 and NOT the 4l60 cause I for sure wouldn't have made it home.
A 45ft long, triple axle, 24,000lb gross weight trailer is a tall order, even empty.
Don't get me wrong, I love LS motors. And that 6.2 is a peppy guy! But the Duramax is king of the hill when I comes to towing.
