RCV performance cv axles

Anyone coughed up the cash for these?
At 2500.00 a set they definitely are not cheap but if you have them let me know what you think.

Snapped my first cv axel on my test drive after the new turbo/tuning was installed.
Yes the angels were bad, not maxed out by any means though. And i left the line @ only 10psi.
I am going to buy a cognito 4" kit to get my cv angles to be 0° so to speak, cuz i love my tire size, and i dont want to lower my truck at all, i was thinking about saving up for these rcv performance axles too.

Just hoping to hear someone has put them through the gauntlet before dive in, cuz.....

I looked into these, and while they seem good I would only use them for off roading, with my angles flat I have yet to break one as hard as I launch

Stock cv's have held up in 1500 horse trucks, I personally see no issue. I only see an issue if you want to use that 1500 horse in a 6" lift or 6" drop where you cant adjust the overall CV angle.

A buddy of mine runs them on his ranger currently on 43's, but was running them on 46's. %100 no questions asked replacement policy.

They do have some issues, he has had to replace his 3 times so far. The first 2 sets ether were too tight, or missed the treatment prossess. They never broke, just started clicking. The replacements were mailed out as soon as he called them, and arrived in a vary timely manner.

I have seen 3 of the cages break, all were replaced under the warrenty. Overall, I would recomend them. The price is high, but you only have to buy them once.

Thanks for the responses, its so hard to believe that stock cv can handle 1000+ whp and whatever amount of tq just by havin them flat, but i guess they do! I was a little shocked that it snapped so easily, in an almost leveled position, pieces were flyin everywhere!

The rcv cv axles are supposed to be bomb proof, but i am gonna get the lift first ( duh, no brainer) i plan on running it as low as possible/feasible, if i break another cv i will buy the rcv set, the only thing is, i could probably buy like 20 stock sets for the same price :spit: and just carry a couple under the back seat with my little tool set, idk what I'll do yet, at 2500 I'm not too eager to jump on that bandwagon! Even though it would be pretty cool to brag about, a little "ice" for my rig, not going to happen any time soon, to many other wants right now (4718 atmosphere turbo, cognito 4", injectors, engine build, dual cp3, i don't know how long it'll take to get to this point, it could be never?)

A lot of the big time rock bouncers use em and don't rear much up I don't think.. 700hp + and 42" tires on average.. They beat the crap out of those rigs too..

I'm running them now but I have never broke a stock one before. One of my stock ones would have let go if I had run it one more pass though when we took them out. Like said above unless your extreme hp the stock ones will work fine.

You can't go wrong buying them, they are a very nice piece.

I got a price on nnbs cv's the other day, the reason I was going with them is cuz they are 1.5" longer then stock, so I don't need cv spacers with my lift.. Haven't gotten them yet but they seem to be a little stronger then stock.. In Canada they are $500 for the pair, just a thought

I run them in my LB7 due to the angles . they were just repaired for a ripped boot no questions asked . weird thing is I just got them back 6 days ago and i find this forum .

running them for 3-4 yrs now and that has been the only problem .

As far as strength goes I believe CumminsKiller runs them on his 3.0 truck...at least at TS he had them, couldn't believe a 3.0 truck was still running IFS, highly modified IFS.

Yes Kusilek went back to IFS after Kevin Armstrong's 3.0 "Outta Control" has run IFS from day one with out issues because the IFS does a better job of laying the power down smoothly and doesn't come unhooked like a straight axle front does. We've been running RCV axles since 09 iirc.:thumb:
