Have you been tuning the stock setup?

My buddy wants me to tune his 5.3, won't hardly spin the tires. I'm going to try playing with the cam phase tables after we get more than 4* of timing in it :rofl:

No, I left mine stock. It's not to shabby stock either, it will blow the tires off from a dead start and will chirp 3rd wot. It's really a handful in the rain already, I have to be careful passing even at 50 mph or it will blow thru the tires. I do have the 6l80e so that helps I'm sure...

Reducing the torque limiting tables helps a ton on the 5.3s. You won't gain a bunch of overall horsepower tuning them but reducing the torque limiting tables will make a huge seat of the pants difference when you stab it off idle.

Have any tips on what tables exactly? Went through his tune today, and pretty much maxed out all the torque limiting and tcs tables. Still a turd down low even with that and a bump in timing. Seems to shift a lot better for the time being.

Are you using efi live or hp tuners. I only have experience with hp tuners on the gas stuff.
Also what gears are in it?

I was thinking the same thing. Only way to tell is look at the vin number. They look identical under hood...

EFI Live, 3.73s, it's an 09 too if that matters.

Man I want to supercharge my work truck, but I already the LBZ for a toy. This 6.0 gasser just feels like a gutless turd since it’s almost 9000lbs with tools and fuel.

I'll get HD Dave to make a couple go pro videos for y'all! It's almost stupid it has so much power and the Maggie makes enormous torque from tip in on the throttle, it sure is fun to drive now that I added a rear adjustable sway bar....:rofl:

Retune put her just under 500rwhp at 9.5 lbs of boost. Kept tune tame until I get the afm and dod parts out and boost cam installed with new springs. Here is the first dyno pull on small pulley before dialing it in. //cloud.tapatalk.com/s/59f1c76ae7410/20171019_150236_001.mp4

Update....

20k miles of non stop daily beatings finally caught up to me. She is a ticking like a clock...:rofl:

Time for cam, springs, valves, bigger sticks and overdrive balancer...:happy2:

Goes under the knife next week.
