Last weekend the hitch used was just thrown on and around 31-33" height. It hopped immediately just like Denver when the front was chained down. Ended up getting a rehook and lowered the hitch height to 26" or whatever the max height is and made it to about 150-200ft before it started bouncing again. The hitch height definitely made a difference.

It definitely has no issues hitting 5300rpms in 4th on the street tune with these 420's. lol

So you are saying leave the bump stops just a hair off the axle and let the sled load it?

Yes.

Like 1/8”

And I agree with zac on the 24”

jesus christ, richard. you had that f*cker more ridged than a virgin wedding dick! i never assumed you had that sucker that tied down (other than the chained front end)

like zak and corbin said, settle that back end down, lower that hitch height (going to take some playing with to get right) and change up those shocks.

you using cal-tracs in the back end?

Hey, I'm out here working harder than an ugly hooker trying to get this setup right! :roflmao:

Homemade trac bars, no caltracs.

If you change the rear stops to allow 1 or 2 inches of travel, un chain the front, leave the torsion keys out, you should have no trouble. Put the hitch at the max allowed unless it's ridiculous

So in regards to hitch height, does it matter where the hitch is in relation to the frame? In other words, if the hitch hook point is even with the bottom of the frame, top of the frame, above or below the frame, does it make any difference?

As far as rules go I think all that matters is the hook point off the ground.

I don't know if he still lurks on this site or not, but Derek Borden (username
derek06) is one of the most successful regular cab diesel pullers I know. It would be worth the effort to reach out to him.

I’ve never concluded a difference.

I built a hitch on here for a member and posted pics. I’ll see if I can find it

Nice coilover setup!
Your new hitch location will help a lot, too.
Is there any way you guys can hit a pull or two before the competition in order to test?

There are a couple of pulls coming up but no open class. Going to see if we can put together a few folks and scrounge up the insurance money to do our own class for testing.
