Help: Rattling from Brakes?

I have an awful rattle while driving on bumpy roads. It sounds like the front end is coming out of it. When I put foot on brake evne just a little, it stops. Does anyone know how to keep the pads from rattling so bad? I have tried just about everything but removing them.

thanks,

Yes, check everything else, Hubs, ball joints, tie rods, everything checked out good, just the rattle and they are tight to the touch of a screw driver trying to shake them, but they just rattle really loud thanks to that amplifier called the center caps. We tried filling the caps with foam to dampen the sound, it helped, but still loud. Also too kthe caps off and it still did it so not the center caps.

Check and see if the caliper moves up and down in the bracket. If so replace the bushings for the slider pins.

Ok, the shim kits spoken of is the Caliper hardware kit, that includes new pins, bushings and boots, along with the clips that the [ads ride on???

if that is the case, this will be easy. I replaces the rubber bushings a while ago, but it did not solve the problem. I did not replace the pins or the clips at that point as I never thought they would be the problem. They will be ordered promptly if this is the shim kit spoken of.

Thanks,

Update

UPDATE!
Went to my dealer and watch the mechanic take off the tires, unbolt the caliper and take out the pads. the pads were TOASTED, they were half wore, BUT the 2 tits that run along the clip were almost completely wore off. That is why they were rattling so bad. Just replacing the hardware would not fix mine, I needed new pads too.

So he put the new hardware and pads on both sides, and about an hour later I was driving down the road with NO rattling. I am a happy camper again.
