The XD version from Dmaxstore is 3yr warranty to original owner, kryptonite parts have a better warranty.

I went with Rare parts g2 also, $275 from Alligator.

They cover replacement if they wear out?

I thought I had a problem with one of my inners. Sent it back to Dmax store and they looked it over. Sent it back "fixed" and didn't even call me a dumb ass. I had a blonde moment that cost me shipping both ways. They look the part over if it's broke and they cover it you pay return shipping. If you read rareparts warranty they won't cover anything. As far as being the same I asked I think the answer was no but the parts on dmaxstores website last I looked said will work for xd/g2

Pretty sure any things covered. I seem to remember someone's truck burning to the ground and they covered them

Original owner with kryptonite parts.

"Lifetime Warranty's" are great , but, the average most people keep a vehicle is around 7 years, how good is the database, backup, from the administrator you purchased from, do you have the original receipt, is the company going to be around in say 15+ years, are you willing to have your truck down/sitting while waiting for the part to return and if history has anything to do with it I owned my last work truck for close to 25 years so they'll be on the hook till I die unless some unforeseen circumstance happens......

Given the how robust the Rareparts idler/pitman arms, tie rod ends, idler shaft (no grease fitting) appear to be the lack of grease will more than likely be the reason they fail. I don't think greasing every 7000 miles when you change your oil is enough for any greasable joint, 3000 yes...

Kryptonite's lifetime warranty does you no good when you are stranded on the side of the road. Plus you have to pay shipping both ways on both parts... **** that garbage

FYI even Napa can get rare parts tierods...

OregonDMAX, whats the cost difference between NAPA and online and do you have the NAPA part number, my preference is to buy local if the price is right.?

I didnt mean that Napa was an alternative to buying online I mean Napa can get them in an emergency if you happen to break or bend one

That's what I was thinking after the posts. If I have to send it back and wait on a new part, not doing me any good when I'm 200+ miles from home. I'd buy a new one and have it overnighted either way so their warranty would be useless to me.

What's common failure for these?

I mean damn it's hard to pass up a set of stock tierods with sleeves for the fact you can buy them practically anywhere in a pinch.

Yea how many tie rods do you guys break to be worried about getting stranded with an aftermarket set that's twice as big?

If you're that worried just throw a good stock pair in the toolbox for emergencies...

If you break a g2/xd you need more than just a tierod. I busted a knuckle and the stock tierod with a sleeve stayed intact. I keep a spare stock tierod in the toolbox anyways but its not for me just those late phone calls from buddies.

Sway bar links showed up today, I'm gonna put it all in tomorrow and put the front end guts in so it has 4x4, I'll do a hard launch cranked to see what gives. Everything is braced and gusseted with HD pitman and idlers, I'm interested to see how it does.

That was were I thought the weak point would be but I figured you had the welded in brace. I got to thinking about his thread and your original question a minute ago. I never saw a g1 where was the second grease zerk?

It had one on the outer rod, and you used the grase fitting on your center link to grease the inner rod, the new rare parts has a fitting on each end, the g2 has one on the outer and a plug to put one on the inner but you can still use the centerlink fitting.
