Well I recently got my first D-max and already the bug has hit me to start the upgrades lol. Right now it's just stock with some junk 90hp hypertech tune but I picked up a proflow air horn and downpipe along with a PPE boost valve that I plan to put on when it warms up. My buddy has EFI Live and is a very good tuner so I'll let him at the truck once I have all my hard parts. I'm still gonna get an exhaust, gauges and... The lift pump lol. Thus leading me to my question. I'm looking to make about 500 RWHP. Should I be looking at a raptor 100/150? And what pump is better... A raptor or Kennedy? They both seem to have good reviews both around the same price. One thing to keep in mind is it gets really cold here in winter and diesel can gel up which seems to burn out weaker pumps, or so I'm told by my duramax buddies. Help please... Seems no matter what I read I can't decide lol :D

I would get something with extra filtraton like an air dog or a fass, I think my motor went out a while ago but need to take it apart to make sure it isnt jammed or something like that.

I would be careful with the backyard tuners, I have heard horror stories.

I'll be making my own filter head with a cat 2 micron fileter...749 or 750

He's no back yard tuner... he's been doing it a while and has tuned LOTS of trucks around here. He's better then one of our so called speed shops lol. Built many D-maxs and is just an all around smart guy. No doubt in my mind at all he knows exactly what he's doing 100% :thumb:

Thanks for covering my butt though!

Have heard good things about Kennedy products and have seen some very good running trucks with his setup. I personally have run the Raptor pump and it treated me very well. It was pretty quiet and did its job. Good unit for the price.

Ha ha ya the trans will be gettin done at the same time. I don't rag on my truck just tow a little once in a while but that won't be happening till the trans is done.

I saw on Kennedy's site that a single pump supported 450 rwhp but will it support 500?

I installed Kennedy twin pumps, pick up and mega filter. Stuff is really nice, I haven't got my truck back running yet but everything went well.
