andy-stevenson, I called Rancho about the your question before I installed mine about 3-4 months ago, their response was yes for the front shocks. Called them twice and talked to two different people and it is in the design for the GM torsion bar suspension and several other reasons about the gas. The rears are different and expand under the gas pressure.
