I finally got a chance to run my truck yesterday at the Diesel Nationals in Englishtown NJ. First off its now official, I am hooked on drag racing! So much fun I cant believe it took me this long. It was a great event and we had awesome weather. Lots of trucks the also. Got to meet Kyle and saw a lot of other members trucks but was so busy making changes to my truck didn’t have much time to walk around and chat.
First things first, All these runs were on my 20" rims so im sure that hurt a bit. I lowered my bars almost all the way. I removed my headlight and played with my tire pressure a bit. I REALLY need to work on my tree skills though. I had a hard time concentrating on the tree and regulating my rpm's at the same time. My first run was my best of the day! This run I didn’t air down my tires so 50 psi I think hurt me because I spun all four tire on my launch. I believe I left at about 2000rpm and it was an animal! Here is my slip for that run,
R/T: .474
60ft: 2.048
330: 5.526
1/8: 8.445
mph: 83.83
1000: 10.985
1/4: 13.137
mph: 104.71
Again, this was my best run of the four passes I made. the others were a [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]. All these passes I didn’t launch as hard because I was afraid of breaking something after spinning all four tires my first run out! I don’t know what to make of these numbers guys so I am looking for a little incite for my next trip to the track in two weeks. I REALLY want a 12 second time slip
The best part of the whole thing despite my poor skills was that I had the fastest truck at the event.(so I was told) That was really cool to hear and a bunch of people were coming over to me after each pass seeking out what I have done (Tony I gave away a lot of your cards so look out buddy!) and congratulating me for making a awesome duramax presence in mainly ford and dodge territory. The best was when the announcer said that my truck was faster than stock camaro ss, hemi challengers and mustang gt's and warned everybody not to race me after making my back to back 13.2 runs
So I would really like to hear what everyone thinks and if you have any advice, please don’t hesitate.
Kris
