no i only painted the stripes , and yes sprayed over the old clear , just cut it down with 600 and then wet sanded with 600 and sprayed . the rest of the paint on the hood is the old stuff .

Then did you clear the whole hood over the stripes and the black base or just clear where you did the stripes?

nope just cleared the stipes , i wanted to clear to whole hood but took the easy route
they actually blend in really well .
Looks good!!! Not usually a fan of racing stripes, but subtle stripes or ghost flames are cool!!

wait im confused....so how did you clear the stripes and blend it into the existing clear on the hood so you dont see the tape line?

you can see the tape line , but it looks fine .as long as its a nice clean edge it is ok with me.............. but had to remove the tape before fully cured to get it . and used a thin plastic tape like used to do flames for the edges .

If it were a lighter color, I dont think Id like the stripes, but the black and dark gray is subtle and looks really badass. Nice work.
