alright my dad picked up a 07 chev with the lbz and is trying to get some more mpg's out of it. can we pull the cat without throwing any codes? any other suggestions?

Possibly. Some trucks will code, most won't. Mine never did, neither did my 03. You will trip MIL if you block the EGR without a programmer though.
Ok that's what I figured, just know on some cars now days that will throw a code

Puchased my truck used in Calif.....Luckily it's a FE9 truck....No codes with a gutted Kitty....I have to keep the kitty in place since the visual smog check are now required...Not to mention CHP have been know to look for the Kitty on trucks when they pull them over....Mostly though if you have your truck lifted.
