Been getting anxious/nervous for racing this year. Going to be running M & Hs on PYOs. And with their weight rating, makes me somewhat nervous.

I know plenty of people have ran them before with no issues/blowouts.

Anyways, i was looking at running only one battery, but wanted to relocate it to the rear to help even out the weight a bit and clean up the engine bay.

I couldn't seem to find a rule pertaining to this class or if its even allowed. Only thing I could find was the NHRA rule on it, needing a manual shutoff and battery tray.

Was also looking to ditch the Giant fuel tank and run a 10-15 gal one. But again couldn't find any info to see if it was allowed. Would have thought with buying a NHRDA membership you would at least get a rule book....

In SS you have to have batteries forward of the firewall and tank in stock location. We put a fuel cell where the stock tank was. Fwiw I only run one battery all the time, starts fine

Yeah Nate, i've ran one battery before. It runs fine, cranking is a bit extended and slow. But I am running walmart cheapos.

I was wanting to swap to one of the slightly lightweight 1500 amp single batteries. Think the weight on the one I was looking at was 38 lbs.

I was planning on getting a sealed box with a shutoff mounted in it. I know I've seen Marine battery boxes like so.

Just wanna make sure I don't do all that work and then get to the track and not being able to go down the track in that bracket.

Nate you remember what fuel cell you got. I thought about that as well, but wasn't sure on the straps for it.

Which class are you talking about? The 11.90 Super Diesel class that the NHRDA runs, or the 12.0 Quick Diesel class that the NADM runs?

I found a PDF version of the NHRA rulebook online a few weeks back. I have it bookmarked on my computer at home. I'll post it tonight.

As was said by Josh, the 12.0 is NADM and you can find their rules on their website. I just heard that NHRDA is altering their rules for Super Street. YOU NOW CAN HAVE A FUEL CELL MOUNTED IN THE BED AS WELL AS A BATTERY. No more having to be is stock location and battery forward of the fire wall. YOU STILL CAN NOT HAVE A HOOD STACK IN SUPER STREET.

That just from NHRDA today. I may have jumped the gun a little but sure NHRDA will anounce it ASAP.
