Thats what got me out of Karts, and into sprint cars! My last Kart race I ended up in the wall and on top of the motor @ 70+mph. I've got permanent fin marks on my A$$ from the head. I bounced off the wall, and passes out while laying on top of the motor. The wife said "Cage and five point harness, or nothing". Easy way to get the wifes permission to move up to bigger and better.

My kart isn't that fast and this encounter with the styrofoam wall will only cost me some zip-ties:rofl: to reattach the front bumper.

Should be about time for a "facts of life" talk with the young 'un. You know the one that goes like, "Ya know son, I've been getting calls from kids with big sponsor checks, and, well, it takes a lot of money to run this program....."

His first race was this weekend.

In the main he finished 5th out of 6 karts...one kart spun off the track, engine died and DNF'd. Grandson was only 2 laps down in the 20 lap main. First thing he said to me after the race " Iwasn't last pa! I passed the kid that spun out:rofl:"

In the first heat he crashed hard with the other slow kid(...pitted next to us all day). Both ended up in the wall (hollow plastic). But with in seconds they both had the peddle to the metal, got back on the track and finished the heat. Now their buddies...

Most important thing...he had fun and wants to do it again.
