Anyone have any recommendations on a in-bed 50 to 60 gallon transfer tank that also has a tool box area on top and would come with gauge/pump/wiring/plumbing/etc? no diamond plate and prefer to keep it no wider than a typical tool box (24"ish)

im half tempted to build a tank to go in my tool box in the back of the limo and then put that setup in the new truck but thats more work lol.

I know a few people that have used transferflow tanks and they love them. Only problem is they are alittle pricey...

im leaning towards their 40 gal setup. the 50 gal gets too wide/deep for me. gives me a pretty good sized tool box too

I’ve been offered a 50 gal tank, but I’m hesitant because I’d be losing an additional 7.5” of bed space and that would bring it back 3” in front of the gooseneck. I could run a 4” offset ball, but I’m wondering if it would be worth it at all?
What did you end up doing?

If your goal is additional fuel volume look at a S&B or Titan fuel tank, they're cheaper than the transfer-flow setup and all the plumbing is already there. If you want a toolbox and don't need all of it for storage then the transfer-flow style tank/toolbox combos are great.

It’s a free TransferFlow that came out of a friend’s truck. He bought a new Duramax that came with a 90 gal tank. I’m just trying to decide if losing the bed space is worth the extra fuel.

I just had the 40 gallon tank/toolbox combo installed before Christmas because we was going on a 2000 mile trip with our fifth wheel camper and let me tell you that was nice not having to worry about stopping half way through the day for fuel with a big rv.

It's been working flawlessly too, I love it.

Thats good to know! The thing that makes it less desirable for me is I use a tonneau cover (as in I don't run a toolbox).

Yeah I hear ya, the one I have I'm pretty sure you could still run a cover. (unless it's an inset kind) My toolbox lid is below the bed rails a little bit.

And I have the rail system in my bed and its far enough away from it that it's not to much of a problem. Not sure how the 50 gallon tank is though.

The thing is, if I run the 50 gal combo, it forces me to use an adapter from my gooseneck to my fifth wheel, because I can’t run a fifth wheel hitch with the limited bed space. My current toolbox is 20” front to back, and the 50gal combo is 27.5”. So I’d end up with an offset ball AND an offset adapter. Mind you, the only time I’m pulling the fifth wheel is for the 1600 mile move to Washington.

Yeah that's why I didn't get the bigger tank, it would have messed with my rail system.

My issue isn't so much fitment as long as its flush with the rails, its that the toolbox portion becomes useless as I'm not going to take my tonneau cover off just to open the lid. I have a tri-fold from American Tonneau.

I got a custom one built some years back. Tig welded aluminum. I had it in three different trucks and certainly haven’t regretted it yet. I did end up building a custom toolbox for the last truck to go on top of the tank instead just a regular crossover box. That was probably more work then it was worth..

Have not bought one yet. With kids, have not seen the benefit of needing more mileage from a bigger tank .

Still looking though. Having a long bed makes your issue not much of one
