Cant say were is best on your trailer , but on mine i put 2 d-rings on the front and 2 on the rear and it works perfect for tying down cars / trucks .

Depends on the trailer and how it was built as to where to weld the D-Rings. Got any good pics of the sides and rear?

Load the toys as you normally would, then figure out how best to tie them down. That way the rings get to be exactly where they need to be.
My trailer had 2 d-rings in the rear and nothing in the front. I mounted the winch, and then the chocks for the motorcycles and used the E-track in 6' sections. Did an overkill with the bolts for the tracks, but when I pull the chocks for the bikes, I can tie the car down and roll without worry.
