I have mostly roamed around these forums for the past 3 years but never really posted anything. Since this is a large build I wanted to throw it on here.
So I've had my truck about 3 years, when i bought it the owner already had a lift pump, traction bars, and Snow Perf W/M injection. 3 months in I had the trans built along with a Gorend X converter. Then installed SDP S475 twin kit, 60% over Exergy injectors, and a Mishimoto intercooler. Made about 689 RWH with water/meth injection on stock CP3. Ran that setup up until a month ago when I cracked the #8 piston.
The long block is being done by Custom Auto in Idaho.
Most parts being supplied by Scott at SDP.
The list:
New crank
Carillo Rods
Fingers Pistons Coated 16.5:1
Socal 6480 AF Cam
Socal Billet Flex Plate
ATI Dampner
Main Studs
Socal Valve Spring Kit
Block will be O-ringed and main caps dowel pinned
Injectors will be opened up to 80%
12mm CP3 from Exergy
S475 is going to be upgraded to Billet S480
Valley charger is going to a new GT3794 Billet 68
The Goal is going to be 1000 rwhp.
Right now I am kinda torn of a few items in the build and wanted to see what everyones opinions would be.
Headstuds, 14mm upgrades were recommend but I have also been told that ARP 425 12mm will do just fine at that power level and that 14mm has an increased chance of cracking a head with the larger holes and higher torque used. With the fact that the block will be O-ringed I wouldnt think a head gaskets would be a problem with the 12mm studs.
Manifolds and up pipes. these are stock right now but I will be upgrading the up pipes but i have heard quite a few high HP trucks still running the stock manifolds.
Let me know what you guys think.
