Yeah alot of the time, the big companies want nothing to do with the customers, its the resellers that are able to make headway, especially if they sell alot of their products.

SPA said he installed wrong??? He has ATS manifolds that are tapped already, how does one install this wrong??? If he stripped it from cross threading it it would have blown out not get sucked in!! :confused:

Fitting doesn't look cross threaded, it also looks like a standard swagelok fitting and those are hard to over-torque unless you give it the 'tard strength. I find it very unsettling how it looks like half of it melted off. Send them a picture and ask how improper installation causes this.

SPA said it was overtightened, I see no evidence of that.

Im not sure about the gauge company you are dealing with, but Swagelok says once the tube (or probe in this case) is inserted into the fitting, the nut should be tightened 1-1/4 turns from finger tight. If the connection is loosened and needs to be reinstalled Swagelok says to simply "tighten slightly with the wrench". Hope this helps for future use.
