Just trying to get an idea how much it's going to cost to restall a converter? Any help would be appreciated.

Well yeah every 1/2 turn in on the converter adjustment screw raises the stall by 100rpm. There is a DIY about it on DF

Restalling a converter will require a billet stator and a modified turbine. It costs money.

amongst new bearings, seals, pump/Hub the time it takes to cut open, clean, weld, pressure test, balance and re paint.

I understand that as well Andrew especially since I have paid Suncoast for such items. I was merely stating what I was told by them. I still run Suncoast products and do not have any issues with using them at all except they do not last forever. LOL Andrew you really need to work on a lifetime product buddy!:roflmao:

Sure they do. Take everything after market off your truck, restore it to factory tuning, drive it normal, never exceed the speed limit or overly accelerate and it will treat you much better :D

Original Q-
Don't most shops do a one time adjustment for free:confused:

Yeah since it's just like adjusting a clutch and all..
I don't know what takes place to re-stall a converter, I think the converter comes out, doesn't it?

riiiiiiiiiiiight
No really

Precision does a one time for free from what I was told by them.
I was told the same thing from precision a year or so ago.
So does PPE, at least according to the sales rep i deal with there.
So does Ultimate Trans, they told me if I wasn't satisfied with the stall, that they would adjust it "one time" for free to dial it in, and that was even after I had requested to have a stall of my preference, rather than the builders suggestion....

So naturally, after hearing from 3 reputable places that they will adjust the stall one time for free, if parts were purchased from them and you are the original owner, I just assumed that this was standard practice...that's why I threw that out there

PPE is Goerend parts... and Goerend restalled my converter twice for free, charged me less than $3002 3rd time to cover billet stator. He does one restall for free also. Dave Goerend and Mike L are 2 of the most stand up guys in the business in my opinion, wouldn't do business with anyone else...
