Well 2650 miles down and 620 to go and I am very impressed with my truck. Only towing 12k lbs but it it on the Alaska HWY. It is handling the 12% grades with no issues and pulling out and passing with no issues. S472 works well as long as you are above 2300 rpm. The only issue i had was an intercooler boot blowing off...in the wrong lane, passing 2 motorhomes! Kind of scary. Oh well we will be there tomorrow night. Just impressed and wanted to share. In Whitehorse, YT and off to Fairbanks in the morning. Oh yeah and 13 mpg:thumb:

whats the job market up there like right now?? what specifically are you doing??

i'd originally planned to spend this summer up there, closer to the coast though, but i've got a decent job right now so thinking next summer will work better and give me some time to save up some money

Mining industry there seems to be a lot and working for BP on the North Slope. 14 days on 14 off is the schedule up there.
I am an account manager for a tire company. We are contracted to BP. There is quite a bit of rural mining (man camp) style. Coal, Gold (underground and surface) and oil. For the rest im not sure since I just got here and am not sure whats outside of my world.

Good on ya....

Hey man, post a few pics. I've been all over the world but never made ot to Alaska. Nice to see the DMax is doing what it is supposed to :thumb:. Maybe next year I'll make the trip. :patriot:
Right now I'm a little predisposed in other parts of the world.
