Did some digging and came across a few threads where people said they really liked the precision 46mm gates.

I'm having my s472 turned into a billet s480 as we speak and am going to gate it. Going to leave the 83mm turbine and .90 housing on for now. I want to see how much i can squeeze out of it before i need to go bigger on the turbine.

I decided to snag the precision gate setup and ordered it tonight. Anyone have any experience with it? How did you setup the springs? What is everyone setting the opening psi at?

Would I run a weak spring and use a pressure regulator or should I stack the springs up and use no regulator. It comes with 5 springs that can all be stacked up to I believe 29 psi. I figured I would just use springs to start and if I were to guess, have the gate set to open around 20-25 psi? Or would I strictly set the gate up using a drive pressure gauge and just watch egts vs drive pressure?

i have the precision gate on my truck and set up a ton of gates. imo spring pressure doesnt matter, just use the regulator to set up when you want it to start opening.

Ok that is what I figured anyways. Only reason I wanted to use spring tension only, was to eliminate another potential piece to the puzzle that could fail.

Which spring would you recommend using with the regulator? Something intermediate like 10 psi? Then use the regulator from there on out..
