I have a ppe pump, its not load at all i think. Nothing compared to my friends fass pump you can hear it a mile away. I have had mine for six months with no problems. I asked when i purchased mine and they said it was pass threw. They said you can not ride around with it off cause the cp3 has to work harder to pull fuel threw it and could possably burn it up. But if you was on the road and it broke you were able to drive it to the first shop to get it fixed. Thats the way i understood it.

Can't go wrong with a KD pump. Flow through design, brushless. I got almost 130 000 miles between two trucks on mine. Works good enough for a single CP3 truck to maintain rail on a race tune. At $200, I'm not sure why more people don't use them for their daily driver trucks.

The PPE pumps have worked great for me but I run a bypass around them and run them on a 10 psi pressure switch. You only need the pump on the higher RPM range. Aslo have a switch in the truck to turn it on all the time but shuts off when you turn the key off.

Its not a FASS!

I had the edelbrock 1792(virtually the same thing as the PPE) and hated it. Well woth the extra money for a good pump IMO.

I had also a 1792 which started 3 weeks ago to leak on the wires ... the 1792 is made for gasoline and not diesel. Diesel needs special material, which the PPE pump has Kevlar gaskets and is resistant to diesel (Kevlar or Viton needed). My new lift pump sits right next to me and cries to get installed soon :) ... Thanks Joe @ PPE ;)

If you order the PPE lift pump and ask for a install kit you will get everything to put the pump in along with lines fittings and the billet pickup for in the tank.

How much is it with the install kit?

so does it tell you what size lines, fitting, and wire to use? are there any instructions at all?

Without the installation kit it comes with these instructions:
For the pump
http://www.pacificp.com/pdf/ElectricFuelPump(Online)InstallationGuide.pdf
For the relay
http://www.pacificp.com/pdf/Fuel Pump Relay Unit (Online) Diagram.pdf

For the simplest install you need two 1/2" male NPT to 1/2 hose barb fittings. One straight and one 45* or 90* elbow. Then you need about two feet of 1/2" fuel line and 4 hose clamps. Cut the a piece out of the metal fuel line (larger one) going from the tank to the engine, find a way to mount the pump to the frame (a piece of flat stock bolted to the inward side of the frame rail at the top and bottom, boxing a small section of the frame, makes a nice place to mount the bracket), clamp a piece of 1/2" fuel line to the metal line on the tank side of your cut and route it to the 90* fitting screwed into the inlet of the pump, clamp another piece to the engine side of your cut and route it to the other fitting screwed into the pump's outlet. Ground the black wire where you bolt the bracket to the frame, run the red up to the supplied relay's blue wire, ground the relay's black wire, run a power supply to the relay's white wire, and install an add-a-circuit in a keyed fuse location and run the wire to the relay's white wire.

If you do a search I'm sure you will find a write up with pictures.

I went through two PPE pumps. It did bairely flow through, just enough to where i could drive around 40mph to get home. I now run a PPE Billet pick-up with 5/8s line to the FASS 150. I like the FASS because of the filtration system and the air seperator.

I run my pump to a keyed on switch so its always on when my truck is on. My tunes fuel very hard on the bottom to help spool my purple windmill, i use lots of fuel from a roll. I need my pump on way before 10psi. Any fuel not used gets returned anyway.

X2 my pump is on with key too, and I need fuel way before 10 psi. I want to put a switch on it so I can levae it off around town but its not flow thru so I would have to bypass and thats a bunch of hoses and fittings I really dont want to have.

Okay, Thanks.

Is there a reason 5/8" is used when the factory line to the filter is 1/2"?

because the lift pump can pull that much (or more) to it and hold more fuel up to the lift pump. Might as well have as much fuel up to it as you can. A main point of the pickup is to get more fuel picked up and to the pump. instead of the fuel sitting in a 1/2" line, theres ore fuel sitting in a 5/8" line at the lift pump waiting to get pushed thru the system. Whys the tanks 26 gallons when the truck dont use that much........

I agree on a truck with a big turbo you need the pump on all the time. My 02 has both pumps on all the time. Stock turbo dosn't need all that fuel at driving speeds just when racing or sled pulling.

why the F is the billet pickup damn near the same price as the pump itself?
