like 100%? probably none for aftermarket, i bought an aftermarket warranty for my LLY when i bought it with 95 k on the clock, the warranty was 3100$ and 3 year/36, the company was VehicleOne. the head gaskets blew, and it had alot of leaks, front diff halves, front and rear axle seals, and pinion seals, the end bill was 8900$ i paid 2500 out of pocket, 750$ of it was head studs, because the warranty wouldn't cover it, as well as some machine work, and they would not cover new heads, bare or assembled. warranty paid for itself the first time i used it, they also covered some more axle seals later on, they were pretty easy to deal with. and they did not question any of the aftermarket stuff.

these guys were the first decent expierence ive had with an aftermarket warranty, i only purchased the warranty because i was buying a LLY and figured the head gaskets would go at some point soon.

hope this helps

Thanks for the input, ya Im just curious if there are any that are comprehensive for a decent cost. Insurance if an injector sticks or a rod bends.

Always depends on the situation though.

So it was still 5600 in the end. Hardly worth it.

Complete waste. I inspected a motor for guy that shot a spark plug out of the head and warranty he purchased wouldn't cover it b/c they said it was installed wrong. He never had the spark plugs replaced during owning it. His $3,000 warranty was a waste in this case.
His AC compressor crapped out before and the warranty company would only pay $50/hr for repair and they would only pay about 1/2 of what a new compressor cost b/c they look up the cheap one and will only spend that much.

Coming from a dealership that dealt with aftermarket warranties all the time unless you find a good one most all of them will fight you on serious repairs like motor rebuilds or similar. We as a dealer got screwed on every one of the jobs we did too because the warrentee says the job will pay this even if its 2/10ths of what factory warranty is. Most of them are good when it comes to small repairs though.

Other than tuning the motor is stock. But obviously that is open to interpretation.

ah i thought it was for the one in your sig.

i only know of one decent aftermarket warranty but i cant remember their name. My wife, waaay back when we were dating, had a 2001 ford fUcus (no typo, it was deemed that after screwing us over on a few road trips) that had an aftermarket warranty on it. it covered 3 transmissions in it, a fuel pump repair that took two full days of diag to figure out and other little issues. all she paid was 100 bucks out of pocket for each fix and 3k for the initial warranty. it paid for its self well over. it was only offered through ford pre owned IIRC.

the rest have been like Russ stated. they want to fight you on covering an issue. You need to read every bit of the fine print on what your signing cause they make some awesome loop holes in those contracts.

Personally, put the 3k aside and use it on the truck/shop should something come up

Sounds like you got lucky James haha. 3 transmissions in a ford focus is insane. I was hoping to hear more good stories and recommendations like yours as far as coverage of repairs. I dont doubt that there are tons like Russel found. Thats ridiculous.

I was looking at it as an insurance policy but if they dont want to pay out after 3k or more its definitely not worth it. Ill see what I can find though.
