I have had a Hypertech programmer on my 04.5 LLY since Oct 2004 and had no issues. Increased fuel milage by 2 to 3 mpg. I keep it in stage 3 even while pulling my 28' toy hauler. I have no modifications to the engine and with 219,0000 miles, I ran at the local dragstrip this weekend. Factory settings ran an 11.17 1/8 mile. Reset to stage 3 and ran a 9.60@72mph 1/8 mile. I feel it is a very safe programmer for a stock truck and gives very noticable power and torque. I hope this helps.
