Why not try plastidipping? Powder coating didn't work for u. Give it a try. If u don't like it then peel it off and try something different. Here's no right or wrong way to do things. Everyone has different budgets and different things that work for them. If u take the time to prep and put enough coats on u can make spray paint or plastidip look good. My brother just did his grill on his lmm and it looks really good. But he's anal and prepped it and put a generous amount of plastidip on it.

Media blasting doesn't remove chrome it barely etches it at all. And you are correct that the epoxy is strong, much stronger than urethane or acrylic. My point of the post is using a polyester powder over an existing chrome finish will not produce the desired results.

Volcanic ash will remove the chrome...:D

Yes, I agree. You have to remove the chrome plating completely for proper adhesion, plus properly clean then epoxy them before they can flash rust which is like an hour... Lol...
