Hi Mike. I have a 2005 LLY CCSB 4x4 Dmax with allison and I have already put a stage 4 PPE kit in it. Will my trans work in a 2008 or 2009 new style Dmax? Would just be a matter of switching the vavle bodies and whatever else electrical wise or is the trans completely different? Any info on this would be great ty :)

When he installs the LMM in the 05 LLY that transmission does not have an input speed sensor. It will throw P0727 code without the sensor connected. IIRC TCC lockup is interrupted and resorts to using the turbine speed.. It will shift like crap.

Except he is putting an LLY in an LMM.... so hell just have an extra sensor chillin.

SIKDMAX,

One of us has misread his original post?

The way I see it>
He has an 05 LLY with a Stage 4 PPE.
He will buy an 08-09 LMM with stock trans.
He wants to pull both trans out and swap them > LLM goes in LLY and LLY goes in LMM..

The 05 truck will throw p0727 code when the LMM trans is installed without an input sensor.

$Smokin Duradog$ is this correct?

If it was me I would just swap TCs and build the LMM trans... The Rotating Clutch and gear assembly are stronger..

Yes Steve O. What you said is exactly what I was thinking of doing. I also read in forums about the 01-05 Allison's not using all the clutch surface to engage like the 06 and after trans do. So maybe the converter swap would be best not a bad idea. What brought all this on is after I put tranny in my truck I started eating rear driveshafts and anything and everything in the front end that could break has broken. I think the nitto's are just to much tire for junk IFS. So its either buy new truck and leave it stock height or put a DANA 60 under the 05 and get back to sled pulling :). Pretty torn on what to do. New trucks look sweet no idea how easy it is to upgrade the motors and trans in them. Also kinda scared to see if they crack pistons like the LBZ's. Thanks for your input.

I thought the LMM bell housing stillhad the boss.

I do not have one close to take a picture of but in the PDF SIL looks like it's completely gone.

I can post or send you the SIL PDF if you want?

$Smokin_Duradog$,

I can understand your dilemma.. The New body style is sweet, but I would have to lift it:D

I have the SIL PDF. I will have something shortly that will eliminate the ISS.
