Possibly buying lbz

Found a 2006 lbz regular cab long box. Rubber floors, but has electric seats, tow mirriors, and push button 4 wheel drive, pretty neat truck for sure.

I know to look real good for the transfer case pump rub, trans lines, weeping of the water pump, leaks of the power steering gear box/ lines and pump, heck whee bearings and front end, and then balance rates and blow by.

Is there anything else I should be looking for on a lbz? It has 180,000 on it, guy told me majority of it is high way miles. I'll check the hours to to see the idle time at least. Engine light is on for one glow plug as well.

Check the codes yourself don't take his word. Hour meter may not be accurate at all they can reset themselves at random.

Sounds good, I have seen a few do that. I usually just divide the hours by the miles any ways just to see avg speed

What you going to use to check balance rates etc? Cts or scan tool?

If scan tool Id play with the turbo vanes for a while, but with the miles it should be ok.

I use a snap on solis pro. Didn't realize I could change vane position with the scan tool. I'll look into that

Do lbz injectors last a decent lenght of time? Or is 200k about the time to be replacing them as well?

Mine has 198k with no plans of changing them anytime soon.

It's a guessing game, I've had em at 60k & 300k

No need to replace the whole bank if only one has a out of spec return rate or balance rate correct? It's okay to just change one out at a time?

truck has 2 high balance rates in drive, one is 4 and one is 5. has glow plug issues and needs a fender and tail gate.

Needs to be re undercoated and needs tires. What do you guys think for the going price of a lbz regular cab? red and tan interior.

That price is absurd and youre never going to get a seller with such a grandiose opinion of his trucks value...to agree to a reasonable "for you" price

Bad balance rates, bad glow plugs, RC/LB 180,000mi, needs a fender and tailgate
Not painting a pretty picture...
That truck is worth 12, 14 tops

I am honestly just sick of my lb7. I know guys have had great luck with them but I am having terrible luck with mine. Lol I just want a lbz but can't find a good one. I am not afraid of miles. I am afraid of rust!

Plus I don't want a 4 door any more. Want a rc/lb for a long time now.
