Possible power numbers?/pointers and thoughts

About to pull the plug on some new wheels and tires. Then after I'm gonna be looking at more power mods. Just want you guys opinions and thoughts on the matter. I'm thinking of running a LDS 63.5 cover and wheel. 3.5 intake horn. Wehrli (sorry if that's spelled wrong) y bridge and cold side pipe. Side note on that. Budget or full upgrade?? And then a set of rudys diesel manifolds and up pipes. With the possibility of a hot side pipe as well. Any thoughts? Ideas on possible power numbers? I do understand that the turbo again is gonna choke me. But just don't have the dough to pull a full s472 setup

LDS claims their 63.5 is good for 650hp but you'll have to stop far before that with a stock bottom end

Are the other parts I listed good mods as well? Just looking for the most I can squeeze. Then I'll probably get a set of Brian crowers.

I disagree with this, not saying they are bulletproof at that power but it's the general consensus that 650 is the stock bottom end limit and can be somewhat reliable if properly tuned and driven.

I'd really like to make 600-650. And at the same time have parts in the truck that will help support whatever I Throw at it in the future

Not on an LB7 you wont. "General concensus" is 550 max. Some guys might get by for a short time above that (and I flat-out hate it when they claim that it's "normal" for everyone), but 600+ will bend LB7 rods no matter who tunes it or how you got there.

Has the O/P even built his transmission yet? Maybe he should explore what order to do things in so he gets the most for his money?

Oops sorry for the misinformation guys, I knew the rods were weaker but didn't think they were a big issue at those power levels. Well now I know, just another reason the Lbz/lmm is far superior :D and to the op if you want it to live with no matter what you throw at it in the future you should start saving for trans and rods/Pistons at the least.

As you can see in my signature my transmission is already built. I've read tons and tons of people who safely hold 650hp. All depends on the tuning. For the guy that said the rudys pipes are cheap. Have you seen them in person? I've seen a few guys that say they look like exact PPE pipes.

I believe the guys who are having them hold together at higher hp are usually running a large single and keeping the tq out down low.

If you're dropping coin for pipes, drop a little more and hit up rick. It's worth it.

When it comes to my truck I prefer the old adage Buy once, cry once but you each their own. I'd beef up the bottom before going big on power

But for real if I pull the bottom end it's gonna be another long process. I'd really love to get another block and build it. Just wondering how long I can keep an s472 on stock rods with some good tunes... that is if I can even keep my foot out of it. That's a rhetorical question btw. Just thinking aloud

I would do the 472sxe instead the 63.5. Have a good tuner keep tq out down low and you will have a better chance of it lasting.
