Alright, guys. I know I'm new to the forum, but I need a little help, so I'm just going to jump right in and ask for some troubleshooting advice.
I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 4x4. I recently went into limp mode and eventually discovered that the root cause to the problem was the infamous connector on injector #2. Of course, before I realized it was the connector, I went out and had a new #2 injector put on (from the Pensacola guys), and after I drove it for about a day and a half, it went back into limp mode. A mechanic friend of mine picked the connector, and that problem seems to be remedied for now. However, since I've had the new injector, I've been noticing a knock that gets pronounced at around 35-45 mph. I didn't have this knock before I got the new injector, and after reading up on some similar problems from some other guys, it sounds to me like a definite injector knock considering the problems leading up to it.
My question is: Should I just put the old injector back on? Being that we discovered that the bad connector was the cause of the limp, I assume that the injector was never bad to being with. Or could it be that the pick-job didn't fully fix the problem, and I still have high resistance going to that injector? Or, is it something else?
Any advice you fellas can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
