What is the diagnostic procedure to determine whether the head gaskets are blown or a injectors cup lifted? TIA

On mine the coolant tank stayed presurized some times up to 3 weeks with out starting and it was niping away at the coolant also
Mine definitely has a problem, low coolant light, overheating and I popped the hood and there's coolant everywhere. I guess I'm just gonna go ahead and pull the heads so its for sure fixed.
can you tell where its coming from? jmaz268 just had the gasket blow on the adapter on the back of the motor,there is a little plate covering the coolingport it was a cheap fix.Turbo coolant lines have been known to crack and spray
I will have to wash the engine bay down to pinpoint it but it looks like from the overflow cap. I'll take the cap off and start it tomorrow and see if there are bubbles and go from there but I'm pretty sure the gaskets have been on the way out for awhile. I've had slight coolant loss, excessive pressure and grayish coolant for some time, I guess some time on the big tune and 10 minutes of hauling @ss on the DD tune were just too much. LOL
Well I had a break for once in my life, the nipple on the quick connect where the heater hoses go into the heater core broke off..... I can't believe i got lucky but I REALLY didn't want to pull the heads! I found it this morning after I put 4 gallons of water in it and started it. I just looped the heater hoses together to get to work and it didn't overheat or blow coolant out (yet)!
I guess it was good karma for replacing the steering gear box on a buddies 12 valve in a restaurant parking lot that evening. LOL
Had the same thing happen with mine one day. Was hauling ass on my bigger tune the day after my cp3 was replaced loving the power I got back and bam low coolant and it sprayed it everywhere. Thank god it was just the little white nipple. Replaced it 2 months ago and took 10 minutes, a quick connect tool, and the 30 dollar part!
Very cool. If the coolants turning gray, i'd get the fluid tested anyway. Could be a sign of soot in the coolant, another hg issue.
I know this is a old thread but since its been bumped and for anyones future reference I did end up doing head gaskets and studs a few months later to cure the excessive cooling system pressure problem, it also took care of the grayish coolant.
