More material you take out of the bore the weaker the block. Me and 2 buddies cracked blocks within last 2 years. All 3 of us .20 over at 1200+hp. This round I left mine on stock bore.

Do lml blocks seem to have any advantage over previous generations? They have more webbing but idk if people have been seeing them crack in the same areas. Ne-max did those two blocks crack in the same areas?

No brad, as buick455 stated, the lml block has more webbing but the cylinder sleeve is not stronger than previous generations. They still crack

Correct. I should have clarified better. The webbing is definitely stronger and is what I was referring to. I have not heard a positive or negative on the factory sleeves.

Was mowing my lawn and took a quick second to reply.

This. All 3 of these cracked the cylinder wall. No issues with lower end in crank area granite we all had girdles. Mine cracked on the back side of #7. Other guys was middle cylinders.

I'm a big fan of ported heads I ran them on my 04 lowered drive presure quicker revving the boost was lower but I was moving air easier.I also had the manifolds ported to the ladder size port and had the turbo ped ported as well .

I vaguely remember Wagner bolting a set of modified heads on an otherwise stock engine with back to back dyno runs and comparisons.
If you could find this it may be the only comparison like it out there.
Usually if there's a set of ported heads going on there is a plethora of other mods as well. However keep in mind that no one thing will ever work to it's full potential without supporting mods. It's never about individual parts it's about the package.
