LB7: 'pop' goes the pump

Found this in the valley after losing a full tank of diesel while out for a half hour blast.truck didnt lose power but turbo made a funny flutter/poping at the 4k rpm mark and i dont know ifiits fuel related or somthing else,also having a real hard time spooling the triple 75/83's,its a smokey pig.this is the frost plug from the valley cp3,looks like a granade went off inside.

Yesir,It is a stocker and have heard of pumps failing but HO LEE SHIT!Didnt think that could happen.

Thanks.I have a couple pumps coming from 02ilduramax so should have it back in action in a couple weeks,Unfortunatly i think i need to swap my turbos for somthing that will spool,on my kill tune i only got 38 psi at wot and blacked out 3 miles of hwy doing it

Same thing happened to my stock pump a month ago. 230k on the stock pump when it went. Lost about1/4 tank Diesel on the way to work. plugs looked just like that

Its a bad feeling pulling metal fragments out of the valley of a fresh built motor.did you notice any drivability issues when it happened or had no clue?I had no idea it happened and drove for a half hour.

a friend had a dual pump setup on his 6.4 and his cp3 blew up and put metal all through his injectors. Id def have them checked also.

I didn't know anyone had retrofitted the 6.4 with a cp3. I thought they had to use a second Siemens k16

Yes I had a loss in power due to low rail pressure. Truck idled fine. Didn't notice till I got to work got out and seen Diesel running off bellhousing.
