:confused:looking for suggestions, I put a ppe stage 5 kit in a friend of mines lbz. everything went together smooth except for the C3 apply piston, it took a tremendous amount of force to install it, but a ppe assured me not to worry. after filling up with fluid and re-checking after the truck was fully warmed up I pulled it out of the shop and within about 50 feet I noticed the check engine light and the truck would not shift out of 1st gear. so I stopped to check fluid level & cleared the code with a V2 and tried to move again, it stayed in 1st untill it went into neutral, at this time the light is on again, and on the dash it says shift range inhibitted. some early suggestions were to check the resistance of the B trim solenoid which was good & the speed sensor on the t/case which also is good, i also polished the A & B trim valves as the B valve had some sticking issues, thanks for any suggestions

I have not put the valve body back in to try, I was not comfortable with just cleaning up the valve body. the amount of force I had to use to install the C3 apply piston was an amount I have never used, I would be shocked if I did not tear it, but ppe's response led me to believe that I was fine. I will pull it out in the morning and get the apply piston out, thank you

Mike the C3 apply piston does not look like it is tore, it does look to have some very small chunks missing on the outside lip that goes down in the case, and it looks like the machined side of the piston has missing a small amount of missing material as well, I will get the C4 out in a few minutes, thank you

I just had Josh Occoner at Smokin Diesel Perormance in Greenwood do mine. Greenwood is a small suburb of Lee's Summit in south K.C. He is good friends with Mike Bodine. Mike builds the trannys in the Smokin Diesel pulling truck. Look it up on Youtube. Him or Josh can build you a nice tranny. P.M. me if you want their tel. #
