we are getting the engine put back together, but we cant remember where these brakets go, anybody that has recently replace head gaskets, or worked on there truck, have any pics of where these are located on the engine?
The first bracket pictured holds the fuel rails together and bolts to the valve cover right behind the alternator. The fuel rails come out behind the alternator and then convert to rubber line to go to the fuel filter housing, right before that is where that bracket goes, it bolts behind the alternator and to the left of the y bridge if that makes any sense:thumb:
he's correct,, i looked to quick and spoke to soon, my bad.

I am 100% certain that bracket goes on the driver's side valve cover right behind the PCV outlet and under the turbo outlet. There is no doubt in my mind. The bracket in the first pic is definetly the fuel hard line holder no questions about it, i have been wrong before though lol! Madmatt was saying i was right about that one. I have no clue about the other ones

No, I think you were right. That bracket goes on the left (driver's side) valve cover right behind the PCV outlet. The wiring harness for the GPCM and #8 injector clip into the hole closest to the fuel line holding bracket and the bolt goes into the one furthest away from it. I dont think so, that your talking about is a thinner sheet metal almost and its a gently 90*... That bracket in the first pic holds the main hard fuel line on cylinder 8.. About 3 inchs away from the quick disconnect. The bracket on the left in the second picture goes on the top bolt of the bellhousing (a nut threads onto the stud on the head of the bolt and holds it) and the t-case vent hose goes into the plastic holder. Do 6 speeds have this too? I didn't have that on mine, but that would be the second bracket my trans builder forgot to reinstall The other bracket in that picture goes onto the stud in the intake neck that fits into the cross bridge. That bracket holds the end of the little pigtail that comes up from the fuel pressure regulator. That is definatley right

I knew the bracket you were talking about. I've looked at those things so many times, I think I could identify them by feel. Now that I think about it, that bracket may hold the entire wire harness for that side of the motor. For some reason I was thinking the wires for the front 3 injectors on that side ran under the bale connector bracket, but they may all run in that bundle of wires. Either way, there is a wire harness clip that locks into that hole (the plastic piece that is supposed to be taped to the harness is still on the bracket in the picture you posted). Either way, that is the bracket.Thats where I was talking about, your picture shows where I was trying to explain. I will try and figure out how to upload a pic from my phone on to here via the net to show the bracket that holds the gpcm harness along with the number 8 injector harness. Unless I can text someone who has a working tapatalk
