No I'm not. Is there anything I can do with this? Or do they win because I have a straight exhaust and program :D

I dont know how ture this is but i head from a gm tech in ca that if they scan your ecm and find any sign of mods they can void the warrenty. He said its something new. Now know how true it is.

AFAIK the Magnuson-Moss Act is still in effect and they have to prove that your modification caused the problem in question. Problem is you would have to take them to court to get them to do it and you would spend more on an attorney than it's worth most of the time, which is why they get away with voiding warranties so often.

I believe they can plug in and tell on any of the Bosch ECMs if they have been tuned, even so the above paragraph applies. If you correct your speedo yourself with EFI they "can't" void your warranty for work on say injectors, CP3, turbo, ect. Whether they make you fight them in court is another story.

it's probably bs as I can't see anything in tuning or mods that would cause the glow plug module to fail. However, they refuse any warranty issue due to mods, legal or not. The Magnuson Moss act is great, but if they want to play hardball, how much money do you have or are willing to invest to take this thing to court?

They bank on you not pursuing it. I would try another dealer first, and then decide how far I'm willing to go (and how much money I'm willing to invest).

Are you familiar with any good attorneys in the greater Reno area?

Better yet, are you currently in law school?

No, I am no longer in law school, I graduated May of 2008. I took a job with a local firm pouring coffee. I am in hopes they promote me to paper shredder boy soon. As far as my friends in the area, I do not think any of them would touch something like this, they only represent the defendant in murder cases.

I called the tech and talked to him personally and he said no big deal. I know the dealer in the next town so I'd take it there. The other service writer at the dealer was pissed because the writer who did my stuff wrote a big not saying I had a straight exhaust and "program" and how they wouldn't touch it. I know those techs have worked on trucks with nitrous in them so I figured a gpcm wouldn't be a huge deal.

The dealer I went was pretty good, and the service tech that did my injectors actually owned a tuned and lifted LBZ. Bring it down here for last resort, there are like 4-5 GM dealers here.

This is one of the reasons I'm converting mine to a regular GPCM. for the fed LB7s it's just two relays.....no more pos GPCM. I'm taking mine in next week to get my cali one replaced, then I'll sell it.
